Who will pull the reins of Facebook?

Times Online Reporter:
It is seen that Facebook has a role in the root of many unrests in the world. Facebook is running like a crazy horse. Nothing is going to bring Facebook into the bag. Laws in big countries, law enforcement agencies and regulators have failed to control Facebook. The question is, who will control? Despite the failure to stop the spread of hate speech and fake news, the chest continues to swell.
Even if the big advertisers leave, Facebook is not afraid. What is the secret of so much power? British author and journalist Carol Cadwaller revealed the secret in an online article in the Guardian.
Carol says many homeless people in coronavirus situations are seeking refuge through social media like Facebook. In the meantime, the US election is ahead again. Many people are trying to use platforms like Facebook for their own benefit.
Facebook is forgetting its responsibilities just to grow the business. Hundreds of critics are not facing their policies. The May 25 assassination of George Floyd in the United States involved police in that country. While the whole world erupted in protest for racist behavior, Facebook did not hear the call to change itself over time, but rather they remained steadfast in not removing President Trump’s controversial remarks. As a result, people's trust in Facebook has started to crack. Big advertisers are moving away from the platform as Facebook has not taken any action against the hate speech. The ‘#StopHetFarProfit’ movement launched by calling for a boycott of Facebook is gaining momentum. Brands like Unilever and Coca-Cola have been included in the list of boycotts from Facebook.
However, Carol Cadwaller writes that there is no power in the world that can hold Facebook accountable.
They are not paying attention to any law or regulator. The European Union failed. When the Federal Trade Commission fined Facebook 500 million for the infamous Cambridge Analytics scandal, their share price soared. Now, if Unilever, Coca-Cola and other companies are successful in calling for a boycott of Facebook ads, then it must be said that they have touched on the weak points of Facebook. And if they fail, let's assume Facebook is heading for another big achievement.Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg is quite confident in that situation. He says Facebook will not change its position. Zuckerberg made the remarks in response to the announcement by more than 500 advertisers to boycott the Facebook platform. According to a report in The Information, Zuckerberg has made confident comments in front of the company's employees about the issue of leaving Facebook.
He said the announcement of the boycott of Facebook also involved a matter of honor.
In a report in the Guardian, Carroll alleged that Facebook was a company that had helped foreign powers interfere in US elections. Facebook has given the opportunity to broadcast the video of the murder live. Genocide has helped organizations around the world.According to a UN report, the use of Facebook has spread hate speech and violence against Myanmar's Rohingya. Thousands died and millions fled for their lives.
In Carol's view, Facebook cannot be called a mirror. It's called a gun. But that gun is unauthorized. It has no control. Guns have been handed over to 2.7 billion people around the world.
"I think of the report that hundreds of people were killed and left the country in Myanmar because of Facebook," Carol wrote. When I watch a documentary of Facebook staff playing ping pong in Menlo Park, I think more. When I look at Zuckerberg's normal life in Silicon Valley, I think the guy is a decision maker for a company that no one in the world has ever seen before. I then remembered Maria Riser, a journalist from the Philippines, who was imprisoned for trying to explain the damage done to Facebook.
I was overwhelmed when Nick Clegg, the former Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, picked up a column in favor of Facebook and wrote that a platform like Facebook is a mirror of society.

People often say that if Facebook were a country, it would be bigger than China. However, this comparison is wrong. If Facebook were a country, it would be a rogue state. As such it can be compared to North Korea. It's not a gun, it's an atomic bomb.
"Facebook is not a company, it's like a dictatorship, a dictatorship, a world empire controlled by a single man," Carol wrote in a report criticizing Facebook. Zuckerberg did not listen to anything that became undeniable, indescribable, irresistible as evidence of the loss. He has chosen to ignore his critics around the world.
Instead it continues to relentlessly, unbelievably, increasingly disturbing propaganda even after controlling the main news distribution channels. Just as North Koreans cannot stay out of the country, Facebook has also tied them to all fours with WhatsApp and Instagram.

Violent protests erupted across the country on May 25 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in protest of the killing of a black man named George Floyd by white police.Outraged by the protesters, President Trump later posted on Facebook and Twitter, "Shooting will start when the looting starts." Trump's controversial post drew widespread criticism across the country. Fearing public outcry, Twitter authorities covered Trump's post. However, Facebook did not take any action regarding Trump's post. Zuckerberg said Facebook would not remove or cover up Trump's recent posts when the issue was sharply criticized by various quarters.
It doesn’t go with their organization’s policies.

However, the BBC says, Facebook is under pressure in the overall situation. The company says that from now on, they will put special labels or messages on potentially harmful posts. However, they have to give it up as it is important as news. Zuckerberg also agreed to hold talks with the protesters.

The Guardian says the #StopHetForProfit program has been designed to curb hate speech.
Six U.S. civil rights groups have come together to urge advertisers to boycott Facebook in July. But it's something bigger than a program to remove hate speech on Facebook. Its impact will go far beyond the United States. Because, the loss of Facebook is global. It is a threat to democracy. Is it a coincidence that the leadership of the three countries in the worst case scenario of coronavirus is using Facebook's capabilities to promote them? Trump, Bolsonaro and Boris Johnson? Probably not.
Zuckerberg is not Kim Jong-un. Stronger than him. He said last week, everyone will be back on Facebook again. The Wall Street Journal says that even if the top 500 companies boycott Facebook, it could have a 5 percent impact on the company's profits. This proves that it is much bigger than China. More than capitalism. The biggest thing about Facebook is that at the end of the day it cuts our pockets. So we have to understand that no one will come forward to save us. Apparently, Trump and Zuckerberg have formed an unwritten alliance. Only the United States has the power to trim its wings. And Facebook has a way to stop Trump from spreading lies. Which way should we walk?
