Delwar Hossain (60) went to the Upazila Health Complex with fever and shortness of breath three days ago. Doctors advised him to take a sample of coronavirus after seeing his physical condition. After hearing about the sample test, he left. He died at his home on Friday afternoon. The incident took place in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur.
Delwar's home is in Kasba Sagarpur village of the upazila. He was a farmer.
Birampur Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Solaiman Hossain Mehedi confirmed the news. He said Delwar Hossain came for treatment three days ago. He fled the health complex without treatment. He passed on at home yesterday evening. He had indications of coronavirus disease in his body.His samples have been collected after his death. Samples have been collected from other members of his household. They have been advised to stay in home quarantine.Meanwhile, according to the District Civil Surgeon's Office, eight new coronavirus infections have been detected in the district in the last 24 hours. The total number of identified people in the district is 563. Among the new identities are two in Sadar upazila, three in Khansama and one each in Kaharol, Chiurirbandar and Bochaganj upazilas.
District Civil Surgeon Abdul Quddus urged the people to refrain from testing the samples if they do not have symptoms of coronavirus.
