One-third of Pakistani pilots have fake licenses

Times Online Reporter:
One-third of Pakistan's civilian pilots have fake licenses. They do not have the ability to fly aircraft. Civil Aviation Minister Golam Sarwar Khan made the remarks while addressing the country's legislature on Wednesday.
In a speech to the Pakistani legislature on Wednesday, Ghulam Sarwar Khan said 262 of the private pilots did not take part in any of the tests. They don't even have flying experience. Someone else took part in the test on their behalf in exchange for money. He said there are 60 pilots on both domestic and international flights, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). According to US media CNN, the PIA has already released the fake licensed pilots in their organization. Abdullah Khan, a spokesman for the company, told CNN: "The PIA is not alone in its problem with bogus licensed pilots. They are everywhere in the airline sector of Pakistan. They are even involved in operating international flights. '
At least 97 people were killed in a plane crash in Karachi on May 22. All but two of the passengers on board the PIA flight from Lahore died in the crash. An investigation was conducted in this context. Parts of the preliminary report of that investigation were released on Wednesday. However, the minister did not say whether the two pilots in charge of the PIA flight also had fake licenses.

According to the preliminary investigation report, the two pilots on the flight were engaged in a conversation about coronavirus. At the time, they did not even heed the warnings from air traffic controllers. Speaking to the legislature, Golam Sarwar Khan said, "During the flight, the pilot was talking about two coronaviruses. They had no attention. They were talking about the coronavirus and how their families are being infected with it. Their confidence was extremely high. Air traffic controllers warned them three times.
